Perfume Advert

Perfume Advert

The advert shows two women standing in the background, looking at the male character. This makes the audience think that they will get attention from women as well if they wear the aftershave. I would put my target audience in the 'individuals' section of target audiencess. The type of people that it is aimed would care most about their appearance, and the style that the product they wear is seen by others, this is how they live their lifes. My advert would be shown in mens magazines, for example sport and music, on the windows of perfume shops and on public transport. This is one of the most effective ways to send out a message to young males as they are involved with the places and sources regulary in day to day life.

The use of technology helped a lot. The picture of the male character and the women characters were took in the same shot, but a picture of them was better from another picture taken so I took them out of it and put them into the picture with the better picture of the male character. I took about 5 pictures of the same shot in case something was wrong with one of them. Without the aid of photoshop it would of been very difficult to make my advert. I was very comfortable with using all the programs which helped me make my advert.

I believe that my advert is, even though I am not, in a way sexist towards women, but this is the same with all male perfume adverts. They make women look incensed by the male character in the advert, giving the sense that they are objects to men. This also shows that some young males want to treat women like that and aspire to it.
