Soundtracks

We went to http://www.unsignedbands.com/ to choose the music for our thriller. From there, we made a shortlist of songs that we could use. These are the seven songs that were on our shortlist:

  • Arto - August
  • Audio Companion - Night Pushes Through
  • Feral Men - Cling Onto Freedom
  • Hyperions Fate - Sunny Days Are Over
  • Dark Sonority/Jari Ylamaki - Gauzy Dark Matter
  • KDream - Who Killed The Cat
  • Unmorph - Memento Mori

After we tested them out with our film to which one worked best we decided to use Hyperions Fate - Sunny Days Are Over and Dark Sonority/Jari Ylamaki - Gauzy Dark Matter. I managed to merged to merge the two songs into one so the tempo of the music becomes faster and dark as the tension has built up and the action is about to happen. These were chosen as the soundtrack that is used first (Hyperions Fate - Sunny Days Are Over) has a slow beat that builds up the tension of the production, while it also has a eerie sense to it which installs fear into the audience. The second soundtrack ( Dark Sonority/Jari Ylamaki - Gauzy Dark Matter) has a much more faster beat and is much louder than the other, this makes sets the scene has the music starts during a important stage of the thriller. The soundtrack symbolises danger and a sense of fear, which alerts the audience that a villainous act is about to take place.

These are the links to the Myspace pages of the artists of the songs (I couldn't find some of the artist's Myspace or songs on YouTube)

  1. Merging two tracks has worked splendidly, is there any way you could contact the artists and ask their permission. As you've constructed one track from two tracks I'm not sure of the procedure on this one, but you could explain to the artists in an email.
