Type of Thriller

The type of thriller that we are making is in the sub-genre of noir and crime. It is in the noir sub-genre as most of the film is dark and creepy, using limited lighting. The film is also in the crime sub-genre as it is involved in the criminal word of the gangs of the city.

The researching that I done helped to draw an idea in my head about what type of thiller we were going to do. The major factor in the films and TV programmes that I researched was the location. The location of what I researched helped with the crime sub-genre being chosen, for example Essex Boys and The Take. The noir sub-genre was chosen with the lighting seen as another major factor. The way it was used in the film made me as a member of the audience feel and react in a negative way, putting tension and fear into me, for example Disturbia.
